On the train to London this morning, listening to my IPod I watched a young girl about 18/19 getting ready, she……
Blew her nose (long & loud)
Plucked her nose hairs, cleaned out her nostrils
Plucked her facial hair
Cleaned her teeth and brace with a tooth pick
Put on foundation, mascara, blusher
Smoothed down her hair
Applied some hair product
Smoothed down her clothes
Checked on her appearance in her mirrow and the window several times making adjustments where & when needed
The train was busy but she was oblivious to everyone and everything, other than getting ready, making herself feel good!
It dawned on me…..
This girl had an END goal
This girl had a system for getting from where she was now (not made up) to her end goal (made up – looking beautiful)
This girl was focused and single minded – ignoring everthing that was going on around her
This girl achieved her end goal by following her own system. She was ready for her day, she looked good, she felt good.
