I come to keep active. It always makes me feel good. I also like coming for the social aspect of chatting with everyone. I like that we get to choose some of the moves and can go as fast/slow as we like. Plus we have an instructor who cares, not like in big gym classes where they shout at you and don’t even know your name.
I come to maintain all round fitness, I need a class to get me to do any abs and arms! Mostly I come because it’s an hour with friends! I also like the fact that you don’t need to be coordinated- aerobics classes were always a nightmare for me as I went in the opposite direction, out of step with the rest of the class.
I come in order to improve my fitness and keep active. Also because it is a friendly class where you don’t feel self-conscious or judged and can go at your own pace, yet you still work hard, getting good advice from the teacher!
Love the classes that Chris at West Wickham Health & Fitness offers.
I do the Early Risers class which is at 6:15am. It’s early but it’s so worth the effort to get up when you’ve done your exercise for the day.
I do 2 of the sessions online from home & go to the class on the third day.
Chris varies the classes so you don’t get bored & her knowledge & explanation of how & why you do certain exercises is great.
I also do Pilates on occasion.
The classes are friendly & welcoming & it doesn’t matter if you do a lot of exercise or are new or returning.
Give Chris’s classes a go – you won’t be disappointed
I have been coming to early risers for as long as I can remember….5 years plus. Took me a while to find what I really needed and what worked and stuck with it.
When I get in after a busy day, the last thing I want to do is get ready to go back out.
Early Risers is perfect for me. The start time horrifies a lot of people I speak to BUT it works perfectly for me. I get up, straight to class and I’m home by 7.15. I feel 100% better than when I woke up and it sets me up for the day.
I love that each class is different and I do 3 a week. I then know I don’t have to worry about finding the time to exercise later.
I often come out of class and say “I really didn’t want to get up this morning-I was so tired. But now I feel amazing and ready for the day. If I could bottle those feelings I would never miss a class”
The group are a mix of ages and abilities and we all laugh and moan together. It’s a really lovely, welcoming class and we all work at our own levels that suit us…no judgement which I love.
Where do I start? I’m 68, formerly an exercise-phobe and struggling to lose weight and stay fit.

What more can I say other than the class is a delight to be in, not only for the fitness side but also for the camaraderie. It’s a class that I always look forward to every week.
Chris’s knowledge is also very extensive.

When I first started with Hog training my ankles were really tight-they always are ! Working on the feet first for me was hard work to start but each time we rested from the Hog, it got easier and less uncomfortable, the more I did. The exercises felt less impactful with the Hog-I felt I could move more, or I felt more supported in my back and neck especially when i did the lying down exercises.
By the time we were half way through the floor work, my body felt so released I was ready to close my eyes and head for my bed! It’s hard to explain but the release in my ankles and feet were immediately obvious. I haven’t felt this released/freed up, in for ever. Like a huge weight has lifted.
It’s not all about weights and cardio….having to slow down and really focus/cocentrate was the key.
I liked the lower back work the most as I felt really supported with the Hog. I would 100% recommend this – it was worth every penny. I’m so glad I gave this a go!
Thankyou x
I choose to attend Chris’s class as she has an excellent grasp on what movements will help to either alleviate pain or build strength. She is very conscious of seeking feedback to tailor her classes to our needs and ensures to check that we are all in the correct positions to get the most benefit for our bodies.
Chris is a genuinely kind person and her positive energy sets the perfect environment for me to feel comfortable to persevere, even when I am feeling pain, as I know that I will feel better for it.
In addition to this, her classes have really helped my mental health. I’m not entirely sure of how she does it but I would absolutely recommend that anyone I know attend.
The thing that I absolutely love about your classes is that you always do something different each session and so we never know what you are going to come up with next! This variety ensures that you hold our interest and so it does not matter, to me, if there is the odd exercise that I do not enjoy so much. You obviously spend time in planning each session to ensure that we exercise most ‘bits’ each session and I always feel invigorated when I leave. The other thing that I appreciate is your very clear instructions as to how to perform each exercise for maximum effect and benefit. Your explanations have improved over the years and, again, we have benefitted from this. I know that you have done a number of courses over the years and you have brought your honed skills into our classes. Most importantly the classes are enjoyable; we often laugh on Thursday mornings, which is a great tonic.
It is clear that you care about each of us as individuals too. Thank you so much, Chris. Please keep up your fantastic work.
